My friend and I have been planning this trip for almost 8 months now. Ever since he moved out to Indiana, we’ve joke about doing a road trip back and forth but never really took it seriously until about a few months ago when we really were set on doing this thing. It’s a long, dreadful, 10 hour drive through the country. My good friend Josh is coming along with me so that I stay attentive and altert the entire way. We’re leaving Saturday morning a few hours into the AM and will arrive in Indiana shortly after 2pm. As I’m writing this entry, I’m thinking of all the things I need to accomplish tomorrow in order to be ready on Saturday morning. The car will be fueled up and everything will be packed snug in tomorrow (Friday) night. I think I’m overly excited about this entire thing, but it should be a great time! We’ll be staying at his place for a week and then he’s coming back with us and staying with me for another week. Should be fun!
Today was rather a lazy day. I watched Deja Vu, played Guitar Hero, and ate literally all day. I’ll update tomorrow before bed. Until then, buh bye.
This was a pretty eventful weekend. Got to hang out with the friends, played some golf, some tennis, and managed to move my ass up to ‘Hard’ on Guitar Hero. We also had some more storms over the weekend, which I heard produced a tornado somewhere in eastern Minnesota (correct me if I’m wrong). And now today, the weather was great! 82 degrees and sunny, something I would personally describe as the perfect weather. Today I also got a new puppy! We’ve named him Tucker. Here’s my new puppy!

Cute huh? Anyways, we’re now about 5 days from my road trip to Indiana to see my best friend which means we’re in June! Finally! My Birthday month. A lot happens this month. I hope this week flys by. I will be leaving on Saterday morning at around 5am. Have a good week everyone!

Well I’ve known about del.icio.us for some time now but have just started using it for a few days now. I follow a blog by Ben Casnocha and he uses his del.icio.us account quite frequently and I’ve followed all of links that he’s posts and have finally decided to create an account for myself. My account is del.icio.us/zingwat. Add me to your network!
2 reads that I’ve found interesting this week? They’re linked on my del.icio.us account as well, but I’ll tell you about them here just because they’re so damn interesting. 1 is this blog called Engineering @ Facebook. I found this on my daily visit to Hacker News. Here’s a little bio:
We are going to use this space to tell you a little about the code and systems that power Facebook. We thought it would be fun to share what goes on behind the scenes to ensure that the site scales smoothly and that we continue to provide the best overall user experience. Expect to see technical details, architecture discussions and maybe even some code samples. You should also stay tuned to find out about ripstiks, daft punk and a lot of other small things that make Facebook Engineering tick.
The second interesting read I’ve found this week is Johann Hari’s experiment with smart drugs. I found this on reddit this morning and basically it covers an experiment he did with Provigil calling it, “Viagra for the brain”. He goes on to explain what it did for him and truly, one of the most fascinating stories. Here’s an excerpt:
It was in March, in the drizzle, that I realized my brain was burned out. Like a rusty engine, I could hear it chug-chug and splutter – but it would never quite start running at top speed. That’s when I stumbled across a small story in an American scientific magazine. It said there was a spiky debate across America’s universities about the increasing use by students of a drug called Provigil. It was, they said, Viagra for the brain. It was originally designed for narcoleptics in the seventies, but clinical trials had stumbled across something odd: if you give it to non-narcoleptics, they just become smarter. Their memory and concentration improves considerably, and so does their IQ.
Link your del.icio.us accounts and post links to your favorite 2 articles that you found this week in the comment section. Have a good weekend!

Damn, this pisses me off. An all time high for my car. This sucks. A kid’s got to eat.
This is pretty awesome.

Are you Brave Enough?

Well, now that the Microsoft-Yahoo (Microhoo) deal is over, Microsoft still isn’t willing to give up in the online world. Sources close to M$oft say the company’s bankers have begun signaling to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg interest in acquiring his company. They said, “we just want to gauge their interest, more than any real effort.” Although, last fall, M$oft acquired 1.6% of Facebook for $240 million. So I guess will just have to wait and see where this one goes.
So the past few nights, Conan has been doing these little video spoofs on GTA IV. I’ve compiled all three. Enjoy! They’re pretty hysterical!

So, this is a little late of an update being that I saw Iron Man last Wednesday, but still I want to express my love and tell you about the best super hero movie ever! So basically Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man and in the movie plays as Tony Stark who is the CEO of Stark Industries, which is a weapons manufacturer. So, on his journey back to the airport base over in Afghanistan he’s kidnapped by these terrorists who want him to build his new weapon called Jericho, because basically without him, they have nothing. So they give him all the supplies he needs in order to build this very powerful weapon, but of course, he doesn’t help them, instead he builds a prototype of what is later in the movie known as Iron Man. He builds this suit using knowledge and integrity in order to escape captivity from these terrorists. So that is the gist of the movie. This one gets a whopping 10 out of 5 “zings” (stars) from me and just about everyone who goes and sees this movie. People are calling this one, the best super hero movie ever, and I just have to agree with them 100%. Along with that it’s setting box office records bringing in over $100 Million in the first 3 days! So do me a favor, go and see this one.
